:: Software Architect
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
The Software Architect role is instrumental in the design, development, and support of the core business and management information systems. Software Architects are responsible for fully understanding user requirements, providing input to functional design, developing quality applications according to specifications, testing systems, and troubleshooting across the entire suite of solutions. Software Architects are not only valued for their technical skills, but also for their innovation and creativity. To accomplish their work, software architects operate as a member of a small development team using a variety of languages, technologies, and methodologies.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (7+ years of experience)
The successful candidate must have a strong desire and capacity to learn! Candidates must possess knowledge and/or experience in as many of the following areas as possible.
Technologies in use:
- Ruby
- J2EE
- .NET
- .ASP
- Java
- PHP
- SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Familiar and flexible with various software development methodologies
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrable skills in algorithm development and problem solving

Excellent understanding of web standards, web application development challenges, and browser issues
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, or Computer Science is preferred.
JOB SPECIFICS
- Full time
- $80,000/100,000 per year DOE
- 40+ hours per week
- Exempt (salaried)
- Occasional travel required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements design by utilizing the appropriate development languages and tools.
- Develops and executes quality test plans (automated unit testing).
- Ensures the code is scalable and meets performance requirements through performance tuning.
- Ensures the code is secure by abiding by organization and industry defined best practices.
- Delivers quality code and attention to detail that meets the requirements and specifications on time.
- Documents and utilizes sound software development practices.
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with the solution team and other My e Biz associates.
- Assumes full ownership of developed and assigned software sub-systems and components.
- Performs low-level design.
- Recommends design improvements.
- Understands dependencies and how individual contributions impact the overall vision.
- Participates in project related sessions such as code reviews and project status meetings.
- Maintains and protects architecture integrity.
- Follows organizational defined code management processes.
- Provides troubleshooting support.
- Remains informed on current relevant technology and development standards
- Mentors and shares knowledge
